News & Updates
You Should be Dancing, Yeah...
Attention Costumers:
Play JUNK PILE WARS at ApolloCon 2008.
JUNK PILE WARS
is a one-hour DIY
workshop/competion. We supply basic tools, a room, and a pile of random
supplies; you make the costume. JPW costumes can compete in a special
popular-vote lightning round at the Masquerade.
Get a ROOM!!!
The cutoff date to guarantee the ApolloCon rate for hotel rooms is June
13. If you haven't got a room reserved, you should do it soon. You can
reserve your
room online,
or you can reserve the old-fashioned way, by calling 1-800-222-8733 or 281-848-4000.
If you have any problems getting a room at the ApolloCon rate, contact our
Hotel Liaison,
and he'll get thinks straightened out.
Calling All Room Parties:
If you are planning on throwing a room party (or parties) at ApolloCon,
you must register with the Hotel Liaison so that we can make sure you
are in the party wing. If we don't place you in the party wing, you run
the very real possibility of being shut down, and we don't want that.
All I need is the name the room is reserved under, the confirmation
number, the name of your organization and your room preference (large
king, double, two connecting rooms, etc.)
For more details, see our
Hotel page.
Send your info ASAP to
hotelliaison.2008 @apollocon.org,
and party on!
We need Party Buffers, too!
What's a party buffer, you ask? It's someone who sacrifices their own
sleep for the good of the many. In other words, if you're willing to
take a hotel room on the party floor between the parties and the rest
of the rooms, you'll help us minimize the possibility of noise
complaints. If you're willing to be a Party Buffer, contact
hotelliaison.2008 @apollocon.org.
